The contact-dependent growth inhibition protein (CdiA-CT) of uropathogenic Escherichia coli is activated by the cysteine biosynthesis factor CysK within neighboring bacteria. As a result, it cleaves tRNA in the neighboring bacteria, thereby inhibiting their growth.
